Needle feeling

Some patients describe the needle as feeling like a mosquito bite. An acupuncture needle may be as fine as a hair. It is a lot thinner than an injection needle. If you feel sore, swollen, numb, or heavy, these are called "Qi" phenomena. They mean you are obtaining the body's life force. There are three factors determining how much you feel:

1. The aspect of structure - The further away the point is from the finger tips or toe tips, the less feeling you will have.
    
2. The level of blocking - the less blocking, the less feeling.
    
3. The level of relaxation - the more relaxation, the less feeling.
